BBA//Legal was recently chosen from a group of Icelandic law firms to advice to the Ministry of Industry and The National Energy Authority regarding preparation of exclusive licenses for oil and gas exploration in the Dreki area (the Atlantic, northeast of Iceland, on the Jan Mayen Ridge, between Iceland and the island of Jan Mayen.)

Our work on the project entails conducting comparative studies of the legal environment of our neighboring countries concerning hydrocarbons activities, preparing regulation supplementing the Icelandic Hydrocarbons Act as well as advice on and draft the model exploration and production license.
